why do MMA fighters look down on us boxers as weak and without skills?

i hate it that they are all cocky saying they are complete fighters. it more annoying that they say in the octagon we would lose. id bet my car that in the ring they would lose. ive been boxing for a while now and can say we are more polished than MMA fighters. what do you think?

I agree in stand up boxers are more polished and much quicker and much more skilled. I wouldn’t expect Randy Moss to beat Kobe Bryant one on one in basketball, and I wouldn’t expect Kobe to be a better reciever than Moss. So my point is, if you put an MMA fighter in the ring against a world class boxer then the boxer wins, vice versa.

Some boxers do well in MMA; but you generally need some grappling fighting skills or you’re screwed. You want your opponent to surrender; not to have to beat him bloody over 3 rounds…

In real life if you tried fighting like that; grappling onto your opponent in a streetfight everyone would probably call you a fag and hassle you with comments like “Why don’t you just pull on his hair or spray him with your mace”.

I’d rather have a background in Boxing than MMA…

In the gym that i train in, an MMA fighter came once and said he had over 20 fights and was undefeated, he wanted to boxer who had 5 fights and 1 loss, and got knocked out by him. That proves to me that an mma fighter cant take a boxer’s punch.

These guys are just like the full contact karate guys when they started fighting on t.v.
They can not win in boxing.
They can only fight in their special rules game.
They can not punch and they can not take a punch from a boxer.
Boxers may not do well in their game, but they will not win in our game.
