Why aren’t there any undefeated MMA fighters with records of 25 wins or more like in professional boxing?

Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, and many more are undefeated. In MMA, Randy Couture is one of the best but…..ONLY WON 50% of his fights??? Even Fedor has a lose… Where are the undefeated fighters with 25 or more wins?

in mma even dominant fighters have holes in their games that can(and will)be exploited by other fighters that are better at certain aspects that these fighter are weak at. In boxing they are focused on only one dimension of the fight and dont have to worry about being taken down, kicked or submitted. If they are dominant to their opponent they can pretty much stick to their guns and defeat the other fighter based soley on the skills that they posses

MMA isn’t setup fights or “rigged” like boxing is.

MMA is more complex and forces competitors to watch out for a variety of attacks including punches, kicks, knees, elbows and takedowns. This makes it very easy for a fighter to become susceptible to an attack they’re not ready for or even a lucky punch (see Cro Cops vs. Randleman). A boxer only has to defend punches and becomes very skilled at it, but if he had to worry about all the attacks a mixed martial artist encounters, that would be another story. And I believe Fedor’s loss was a DQ or an injury but I’m not sure.

You’re obviously a fool if you think Couture has won 50%. Check again. And Fedor’s “loss” was from an illegal elbow.

You shouldn’t even have to ask this question. Randy Couture has a loss because Vitor Belfort’s glove clipped his eyelid and split it open. It’s harder for a good fighter to lose in boxing, because they can’t get dropped by one punch. The gloves and rules make it harder for the fight to end quickly.

MMA is more balanced, there’s less fixed fights (at least for now), and fights that go the distance sometimes have irrational decisions, making an undefeated record almost impossible.

Because in boxing the guy with faster hands, better footwork, superior technique is going to win most of the time like say Pretty Boy Floyd, but in MMA they have answers to those things like taking you down and pounding you so you will see a lot more competitive balance due to the fact that there are more ways to defeat your opponent in MMA.

MMA is multifaceted. There are too many considerations to account for and too many dimensions to be able to cover to make someone “invincible.” No one is unbeatable in MMA, plain and simple. When you can kick, punch, and go to the ground, then you have enough tools at your disposal to beat anyone else. It’s a giant game of rock, paper, scissors, really.

MMA just started ,give it time this will dominate the fighting industry.

when there are so many ways to loose tap out knockout form hand elbows knees kicks gound and pound its near inpossible to be the best at everything there is no one perfect style or perfect fighter maybe your stand up is great and the other guys grappling is great if it goes to the ground he will kost likely beat you in boxing the gloves are bigger and its just punches
