Seems that Fedor is the only fighter with a pristine record. The best of the best in MMA seem to lose. Hughes, GSP, Gomi, Henderson, Liddell, Wanderlai all have good records but they are beatable.
Will MMA ever be like boxing with fighters that rarely lose? Look at Floyd Mayweather he has been fighting for many years now and not 1 loss. Does the sport need fighters that don’t lose?

theres to many dimensions in the sport to be a consistent fighter. You can be a dominant fighter, but everyone is beatable in the sport, if it was just boxing or wrestling then ya they could be consistant, and fedor will lose someday…if he doesnt then, i duno thatd be wierd i guess…

This is what makes MMA different and what it is. Because there are different ways at beating opponents unlike boxing. Everyone loses eventually in every fighting sport. MMA does not need unbeaten fighters, they need judges that are not corrupt and promotions that are not one sided and biased. They need to put out competitive fights that people enjoy.

If you look at recent statistics it would seem fedor is a ufc type competitor in a pride environment

it seems fedor is unique in that respect. but all great champions have losses to their record and come back to become better champions or i like to believe that anyway.
fedor is great fighter, but everyone is beatable, just no one has beat him yet. if he ends his mma career without a loss then he will solidify his legacy as a fighter.
but floyd mayweather will lose on dancing with the stars, what is that nonsense about…jeez.

FYI Fedor has a lost on his record. Even though it was years ago. But basically anybody can be beaten. Look at Matt Hughes, he defended his title 6 times before he lost. Anybody can be beaten.
To me that is a good thing. Because after a while people get tired of seeing the same champion after so many years and people will start to wonder if the fights are fixed if that person never loses.

It’s really difficult to be undefeated in MMA due to variety of styles.
Even if you are good on both the feet and the ground, some one may have some thing that they can use against you.
Also, another reason is on the ground game, if you make one little mistake, it could end the fight right away.
Even if you get knocked out for 2 seconds, the match will also end. When in boxing, you have the chance to recover.
Oh and by the way, Fedor has one loss due to illegal blow done to him.
Yeah. Other person who threw the illegal blow should have lost but it was a tournament and someone had to continue.

the only reason that fedor has a loss is because he was unable to continue a tournament-format competition due to a cut caused by an illegal elbow in RINGS.
Fedor beat the same guy by 1st round TKO later on. This makes him undefeated because nobody has really beat him.
The dude that gave Fedor the most hell was cro cop and cro cop hasn’t been doing very well at all in the UFC.
fitty bux says he loses to the first HW championship contender he fights in the UFC.

I think with Fedor it is the fact that he is not the best at anything but 2nd best at everything. Plus his calm zen like state in the ring mixed with one of a kind transitions make him 1 in a zillion. However that is because most fighters try to hard for a certain type of win as where Fedor just goes for whatever comes his way.

Everyone loses, especially in mma.
Fedor may be undefeated besides the only one lost that was from by a illegal elbow that opened a previous cut forcing the doctors to stop the fight and because of tournament rules he could not win by dq unless he could advance, but he is still beatable.

of course anyone can be really successful in MMA. they’ll eventually lose of course, but they’ll be successful if they’re really good. look at Jon Fitch, he’s been under the radar before UFC 76 and he’s riding a 14-fight winning streak. Wanderlei Silva was PRIDE Middleweight Champion for almost 5 years.
if an MMA fighter retires undefeated it just means that he’s been fighting cans, or he’s a cyborg that can’t be destroyed.
