Who r some of the best stand-up fighters in MMA?
No, not just fighters. "Stand-up" fighters. As a style of fighting. They mainly stand or atleast try to stay standing to fight.

I can appreciate the out-fighter style like a Floyd Mayweather or Lyoto Machida, I just find it boring to watch.

They depend on there opponent to press the action until they can capitalize on an opening. It’s more defence and counter strikes.

Imagine two Lyoto Machida’s going at it. They would both just stand and circle waiting for the other to make the first move.

Who’s next for Machida? What about Wanderlei Silva?

kimbo-sliceRecently, there’s been some talk in MMA circles that Kimbo Slice might be overrated, and there’s good reason for this opinion. That’s not to say that Slice isn’t a good fighter. There are a lot of people in the MMA, and those who are training at schools like MMA Richmond for the day when they are ready to compete in those circles, who are very good fighters. However, being a good fighter isn’t quite the same thing as whether or not you are overrated as a fighter.

Most MMA fans, if they are serious fans and not casual ones, think that Slice is overrated because he struggled through a couple of fights that he should have easily won. They were not that difficult, but instead of performing well on them he didn’t do that good and the referee still found in his favor by stopping the fight.

Slice also went up against an MMA fighter who was much older than him and who was a great fighter in his time but had gotten slow. That’s hardly a fair right, and the most obvious reason for the ‘overrated’ comments.

1129312_karate_3A lot of people like MMA, but how much do they actually know about the fighters? Some people probably know a lot, but others don’t know that much, and they are missing out on interesting lives and interesting information.

Ray Mercer, for example, is a very popular MMA fighter, even though he’s relatively new. He was a boxer before he started in the MMA, and he not only has a world championship to his credit, but a gold medal, as well. He’s serious about his MMA fighting, but not a lot of people in MMA know his name yet. It’s likely that more and more people will begin to know his name very soon, though. The core is the center of power, and if you don’t have a strong core you’ll have a lot of trouble staying strong, no matter how much you work on your arms and legs, or how good your cardio is, or how fast your reflexes are.
